Stoic Advice for Anxiety

Anxiety pulls the mind into the future and can make a possibility feel as if it is already happening. The practice is not to force yourself to calm down. It is to separate what needs action now from what cannot be faced until it arrives.

A small practice for this moment

  1. 1.Name exactly what you are afraid of. For now, leave out any conclusion about what it would mean about you.
  2. 2.List one part you can influence today, then take the smallest action that would genuinely help.
  3. 3.When the mind returns to the unknown, bring attention back to the next decision in front of you.
